Car Show Terms and Conditions

Event: Maine Paranormal and Horror Convention Car Show

By registering for the Maine Paranormal and Horror Convention Car Show, all participants agree to the following terms and conditions.


1. Eligibility

All vehicles displayed in the car show must be owned by the registered participant or presented with permission from the vehicle’s legal owner. Vehicles should be maintained in a safe condition and suitable for public display.

The event welcomes:

  • Classic vehicles

  • Custom builds

  • Horror-themed vehicles

  • Movie replicas

  • Hearses, ambulances, and specialty vehicles

  • Paranormal or supernatural themed builds

Event organizers reserve the right to approve or deny any vehicle entry.


2. Registration

All vehicles must be registered in advance unless otherwise permitted by event organizers.

Registration includes:

  • One vehicle display space

  • Event credentials for the vehicle owner/driver

  • Placement within the designated car show area

Additional passes may be required for extra guests.

Registration fees are non-refundable unless the event itself is cancelled.


3. Vehicle Placement

Vehicle placement within the show area will be determined by event staff. Participants must follow all directions given by staff during load-in and staging.

Once vehicles are parked in their assigned location, they may not be moved until authorized by event staff.


4. Load-In and Load-Out

Participants will receive scheduled load-in instructions prior to the event.

General guidelines include:

  • Vehicles must arrive during designated load-in hours.

  • Late arrivals may result in denied entry to the display area.

  • Vehicles may not leave the display area during active public show hours unless authorized by event staff.

Safety of attendees is the priority.


5. Conduct and Behavior

All participants must conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner.

The following are prohibited:

  • Excessive revving of engines

  • Burnouts or reckless vehicle operation

  • Loud or disruptive behavior

  • Harassment of attendees, staff, or vendors

  • Alcohol consumption by drivers during event hours

Violation of these rules may result in removal from the event without refund.


6. Safety Requirements

Vehicles must not leak fluids that could create a hazard. Organizers may require drip pans for vehicles prone to leaks.

Vehicles must also comply with the following:

  • No open flames

  • No hazardous materials

  • No unsafe mechanical conditions

Event staff reserve the right to inspect vehicles if safety concerns arise.


7. Liability

By participating in the car show, entrants acknowledge and agree that:

  • The Maine Paranormal and Horror Convention

  • Jeff’s Traveling Boards

  • The Augusta Civic Center

  • Event staff and volunteers

shall not be held liable for any damage, theft, injury, or loss that may occur during the event.

Participants assume full responsibility for their vehicle and any personal property.

Participants are encouraged to carry appropriate insurance coverage.


8. Weather Policy

The event will proceed rain or shine unless severe conditions require cancellation. No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions unless the entire event is cancelled by organizers.


9. Photography and Media

By participating in the event, vehicle owners grant permission for photographs and video footage of their vehicle to be used for:

  • Promotional materials

  • Social media

  • Marketing for future events

  • Press coverage

No compensation will be provided for such use.


10. Judging and Awards 

If awards are presented, judging criteria may include:

  • Creativity

  • Theme execution

  • Craftsmanship

  • Crowd appeal

  • Horror/paranormal relevance

All judging decisions are final.


11. Event Authority

Event organizers reserve the right to:

  • Remove any vehicle or participant violating event rules

  • Adjust show layout or scheduling as necessary

  • Modify policies to ensure safety and event success

Failure to comply with event rules may result in removal without refund.


12. Agreement

By registering for the Maine Paranormal and Horror Convention Car Show, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
